Madclout Update | 5/27/2003 | Mendez
Many thanks to all who made it out to the Hip Hop Elements All Star MemorialDay Weekend in Miami. The Pro Am Winners this year are the following; Single BBoy Champion; Little Devious of New York who disqualified Benji of Paris along with several others. Bonnie and Clyde (female and male combined category) Champions; Beta and Bebe of Ground Zero Miami. Veterans Champion; Frosty Freeze of Rock Steady Crew New York. Popping and Locking Champion; Playboy Eddie of Los Angeles. Crew Champions; Unique Styles of Pompano and West Palm Beach. Power move Champion; Spee-D. Single BGirl Champion; Marie of Paris who defeated BGirl Phoenix of New York in a very close and intense tie breaker big up to the both of them and all who entered the competitions.

Due to terrible weather and an extremely over crowded South Beach, Pro Am goers overcame a lot of adversity. Overall the amount of Networking and exposure that this event brings forth to the culture and all the participants will payback tenfold. In attendance were some legendary and not so legendary but soon to be prominent figures.

The list goes a Little something like this: Trac2 of Starchild Laroc inventor of the Track, Icey Ice of the ever so popular New York City Breakers, Aby TBB, Don Campbell O.G. Locker, Aiko of 5th Element, Frosty Freeze and Crazy Legs with newer generation members of Rock Steady Crew, Dash 167 FC TC5, Zame IBM FC, Airborn FBA, Crazy Freddy of Boston, Jeckell and Hyde of Lost Angeles, Rox Rite, Benji and Yuvall of Division Alpha, DJ Leacy of the UK providing the funk for the battles, DJ Seamstarr, DJ Magic, Felos DME, Smash74, Deadly Venoms, Step Fiends, Flipside, Kartoon, Blen KD of Puerto Rico, Zulu King Lucky, Nite Crawler, Street Masters, OILER COD WH, BSK crew, FS, Keenone, Fader Ballistix, Draz, Stevie D, Breakbeat Assasins along with hundreds of others. If we forgot you hit us up and refresh our drained memories.

Madclout would like to commend Speedy Legs, DJ Trails, Zulu Gremlin and all of there Universal staff that made the event happen. We do have an idea of what it takes to pull an event off of this caliber. The recipe is lots of hardwork, dedication, determination and long days and nights of planning.

You guys' work will not be undersold.

A special shout out to the security and all the volunteers who commit themselves to hours of relentless work baby sitting some of you cry babies.

Breaklanta 3

Madclout News | 2/11/2003 | Mendez
Bgirl, bboy, popping, locking, mc, dj and black book battles held at the atrium in Stone Mountain Georgia. Once again hundreds if not thousands came out to witness the talent and pure energy of hip hop culture.

Madclout wasnt able to make it to the first nite which was the mc battles. You can check out the breaklanta site for those details. We were not about to miss the 2nd day and nite which all the dance and dj battles were to be held. Arriving early that afternoon we set up and in a few hours the venue was packed.

All battles were intense and heated. Public Enemy's 4th year Dj Mistah Lord took the DJ title defeating a cat from the midwest by the name of Swan Mello whom to many shouldnt of made it to the finals. USC from Pompano,FL took the Bboy crew battle along with the 1000.00 back down south. They impressed the judges with flavor, floor techniques, power, originality and execution. Bgirl and blackbook competitions were swept by Loki and Alex who sucessfully defended there Breaklanta 2 titles.

On a final note beware of the ravers who take over the atrium after the 3dot events man it seemed like they infiltrated in a matter of minutes. Nuff respect to DJ Trails for providing the ultimate dose of funk for the battles.Big ups to 3dot and staff for the dedication.

Shout outs to Alien,Burn Unit, Speedy Legs, Boy Havikoro, DJ Sureshot, DJ Faust, Shortee, Corey Calica, Zero Basement, Nite Crawler, Uturn, Mendez, Crazy Freddy, Dj Hazeus, DJ magic, Skitt, Shawn J, Ower, Lady Nez, DJ Madflip and to all who supported the Madclout booth.

Be on the look out for Madclout's Bboy Rocathon coming Spring/summer 03.
